Today as I started off the day, I noticed that Google had a nice Doodle marking India’s Independence day. Check it out below.

Significance of August 15th

Another interesting thing  I came to know is that India along with South Korea also celebrates its Independence day on August 15th. This independence refers to their victory over Japan, which also marks the surrender of Japan during World War II. This also marks the independence day for Republic of Congo from France in 1960.

So Happy Independence to South Korea and Republic of Congo !

Hello World! As promised I am back. I have been able to get my personal blog up. This is where I will be posting some of my thoughts/opinions/views about things I care about.
